Kevin Hart has been “seriously injured” in a car crash that left his classic car destroyed, according to US reports.
The Hollywood actor is said have suffered “major back injuries” after his highly-powered Plymouth Barracuda veered off the road on the Mulholland Highway in the Malibu Hills, California.
TMZ reports that the rare vehicle ended up in a ditch about 10 feet off the winding road after it smashed through a wooden fence.
Sources say Kevin, 40, was not driving at the time of the crash and that his driver, who was also injured, had not been drinking.
Pictures published to the site show the devastating damage to Kevin’s 1970 car, a 720bhp muscle car which he nicknamed Menace.
The roof of the vehicle appears to be either completely caved on or missing, and there’s severe damage to the bodywork.
The front wheels also appear to be hanging off.
It’s said it’s a miracle that Kevin and the two other people in the car survived the collision, which happened just before 1am on Sunday.
Video obtained by the site shows the Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle star’s car deep in a gully at the side of the road.
Police confirmed to the publication that the vehicle belonged to the Ride Along actor and that he and the driver had both suffered “major back injuries” as a result of the accident.
The third person in the car was a woman, who did not require hospital treatment.
Witnesses say Kevin was the first to get out of the car, and that a member of his security team showed up in an SUV to pick him up.
Kevin, who lives nearby the crash site, is said to have gone home to get medical attention before later being treated at a hospital.
The star bought the car for himself earlier this year as a 40th birthday present.
Mirror Online has contacted Kevin’s representatives for comment.
