Queen hat: What colour hat will Queen Elizabeth wear to Lady Gabriella Windsor's wedding?
The next royal wedding is just around the corner, with Lady Gabriella Windsor set to marry financier Thomas Kingston. It comes after Prince Harry married Meghan Markle in May last year, while Princes Eugenie wed Jack Brooksbank in the following October. The wedding is not set to be televised as last year’s two ceremonies were, however, as Lady Gabriella is in fact 52nd in the line of the succession to the throne, hence not quite as high-profile as the aforementioned royals.
Lady Gabriella is the daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent.
Her father is the Queen’s first cousin.
With her links to the family, senior royals including Queen Elizabeth are set to attend the nuptials, which are taking place at Windsor Castle’s St George’s Chapel.
The wedding will take place at 12pm, and be conducted by the Dean of Windsor.
Other details remain unknown, and the celebration after the ceremony will be private – meaning only friends and family will attend.
What will the Queen wear?
At the time of writing, her outfit for the occasion is not publicly known.
However, it may be that the Queen sticks to her typical style.
The monarch often sticks to a smart coat which has been buttoned up, paired with a hat of the same-colour, while stepping out on royal outings.
The Queen has been known to choose some very bright colours in the past – such as vibrant green or bright red.
Most recently, at her granddaughter Princess Eugenie’s wedding, she wore pale duck egg blue.
For the May royal wedding, she opted for a lime green ensemble.
The royal also chose a muted hue years earlier, when Prince William married Kate Middleton in 2011.
She donned a yellow coat and matching hat for the occasion.
Another royal wedding which took place in the royal’s later years, in 1999, she also chose a soft tone – pale purple.
Rather than a hat though, this time, she opted for a violet feathered fascinator.
